Portable Home X-Ray
A radiographer brings a portable X-ray unit to your home. Intended for bedridden, post-operative and elderly patients for whom travelling to a centre is difficult or unsafe.

Before your visit
Please keep the doctor's referral ready. The radiographer needs space to position the unit beside the bed, and anyone not being imaged should step out of the room during the exposure.
Common questions
Is a portable X-ray safe at home?
Yes. The radiographer follows the same radiation-safety practice used in hospital bedside imaging: a low, tightly limited exposure, with everyone other than the patient stepping out of the room.
